The 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025) will take place in the historic city of Bologna, Italy, from October 25 to 30, 2025. Positioned at the forefront of European AI research, ECAI is organised under the auspices of the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) in collaboration with AIxIA, its Italian member society.
Set against the backdrop of Bologna, home to the world’s oldest university (est. 1088) and a medieval city renowned for its arcades, cuisine, and rich academic tradition, the conference will be hosted at two venues: the University of Bologna’s Engineering School for pre‑conference activities, and the Bologna Congress Center for the main programme.
ECAI 2025 will feature a comprehensive programme including workshops, tutorials, and doctoral consortium sessions (October 25–26), followed by the main conference with plenary talks, paper sessions and demos (October 27–30. The programme spans a wide array of core AI topics—such as machine learning, planning, natural language processing, robotics, ethics, knowledge representation, multi-agent systems, uncertainty modelling, and AI for sustainability—while also highlighting emerging areas like fairness, trust, and human‑AI interaction.
